Description

HEPES, commonly known as N-2-hydroxyethylpiperazine-N-2-ethane sulfonic acid, is a buffer solution (1 M). A typical organic chemical buffering agent called HEPES is utilized in cell culture medium. It keeps the pH between 6.7 and 8.6 while adding 10 to 25 mM. When a cell culture needs to be handled for lengthy periods of time outside of a CO2 incubator, HEPES offers additional buffering capacity.

Our HEPES buffer solution has a low impact on biochemical processes, is chemically and enzymatically stable, and is membrane impermeable, making it appropriate for many cell culture methods. Water suitable for cell culture is used to prepare the solution..
