The specified nutritional source known as Medium 199 (M199 medium) containing Earle’s Salts was created in 1950 for cell culturing. It is used for a variety of in vitro cell culture applications, including the generation of vaccines, virology, and others.

L-Glutamine is added to this version of Medium 199. Medium 199 offers a wide range of species applicability when properly supplemented.Basic nutrients are provided by liquid media for all cell culture applications.
